    General description of the service

The websites www.hannover-living.de / http://www.hannover-tourismus.de / online shops at welcome.visit-hannover.com are HMTG's central online tourist offer for the Hanover region. Consumers can use these websites in particular to

    • Order goods (souvenirs) in the souvenir online shop (contractual partner: HMTG),
    • Book package holidays online (HMTG as tour operator);
    • Book individual and group tours online (HMTG as provider) and
    • Enquire about and book accommodation in Hanover and the region via the accommodation service operated by HMTG (HMTG as an agent for contracts with accommodation providers

It also provides extensive information on sights, events and tourist attractions in the Hannover Region.

Explanations on the implementation of the service

The main steps for using the accessible online services are as follows:

    Selection of the offer

Users can use the navigation or search function to select the desired area (e.g. „Hotels, holiday homes, B&Bs & experience packages“, „Tickets & tours“, „Culture & sights“, „Online shops Hanover“). The available products and services are displayed there with descriptions, prices and other conditions.

    Detailed view and offer information

Detailed pages provide users with further information (e.g. scope of services, travel dates, meeting points for guided tours, room categories). This information is required for the conclusion of the contract and travel planning.

    Ordering and booking process

In the Souvenir online shop, goods can be placed in a shopping basket by selecting the desired items and pressing the corresponding buttons; the subsequent checkout process is used to enter the address and payment details and to place the binding order.

In the case of package holidays and guided tours, travel dates or dates are selected and personal data entered; by confirming the booking process, customers submit a binding offer to conclude a travel or service contract.

In the accommodation service, suitable accommodation offers are determined on the basis of the customer's entries; HMTG then arranges the conclusion of the accommodation contract with the respective host.

    Conclusion of contract and confirmation

The contract is concluded in accordance with the respective GTC; customers receive a confirmation of the contract and further information on performance, payment and, if applicable, cancellation conditions.

    Customer service

If customers have any questions, they can contact HMTG using the contact details provided in the legal notice and in the GTC.

    Fulfilment of accessibility requirements

The legal requirements result from the Barrier-Free Accessibility Reinforcement Act (BFSG), in particular from Section 14 BFSG and individual provisions of the Ordinance to the Barrier-Free Accessibility Reinforcement Act (BFSGV). The website is in accordance with the requirements of §§ 12, 19 BFSGV in conjunction with § 3 para. 2 BFSG. § Section 3 (2) BFSG.

Section 4 BFSG gives rise to the presumption that services that comply with harmonised standards, the references of which have been published in the Official Journal of the European Union, meet the requirements of the BFSGV insofar as these requirements are covered by the relevant harmonised standards. This is the case with regard to the harmonised European standard EN 301 549, which in its ninth chapter sets out requirements for the accessibility of websites and stipulates that websites are accessible within the meaning of EN 301 549 if they meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, conformance level AA. We go beyond the legal requirements for creating accessibility and have decided to implement WCAG version 2.2 at conformance level AA.

For these reasons, this website is accessible in accordance with §§ 14 Para. 1 No. 1, 4 BFSG in conjunction with § 12 BFSGV. § Section 12 BFSGV, this website is accessible in accordance with Chapter 9 of the harmonised European standard EN 301 549 and on the basis of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Version 2.2 in accordance with conformity level AA.

    The most important measures include

    Perceptibility of the content
Texts, control elements and forms are designed with sufficient colour contrast and legible font; essential information is provided in text form and can be used with screen readers. Non-textual content that is relevant for understanding or concluding a contract is provided with alternative text.

    Usability of the functions
The pages and online forms (including booking and payment processes) are fully keyboard accessible. Focus markers are visible and consistent navigation patterns are used.

    Comprehensibility
Product and service descriptions, prices and important contractual conditions (e.g. on cancellation and payment) are formulated in clear, understandable language. Error messages in forms are meaningful so that input errors can be easily corrected.

    Robust technical implementation
The website is developed and maintained in such a way that it works reliably with common browsers and assistive technologies (e.g. screen readers, Braille displays).

    Barrier-free transaction processes in e-commerce
The essential steps for the conclusion of the contract - from the selection of the offer via the shopping basket/booking screen to the entry of personal data and the binding order/booking - are logically structured, clearly labelled and designed to be barrier-free.

Insofar as information on the accessibility features of certain offers (e.g. guided tours, accommodation, event venues) is provided by the respective service providers, HMTG will make this available in accessible form.“
