The people of Hanover have been celebrating their Schützenfest for almost 500 years - today it is the largest of its kind in the world. Thousands of people, flashing fairground rides, traditional uniforms and cheerful noise on the square. But what actually happens behind the colourful hustle and bustle?

This special guided tour takes you on an entertaining and informative tour behind the scenes of the Schützenfest: find out everything you need to know about the shooting tradition in Hanover and the stories surrounding the tent, rides, parade and candy floss.

Take an exclusive look behind the scenes of the rides that visitors don't normally see - from the technology of the rides to the preparations of the shooting clubs. Of course, there are also entertaining anecdotes, surprising facts and a glimpse into the history of the fair.
