The 5 stops on your journey through time:

1. c. 1636 – Protection and Trade during the Guelph period: Experience Hanover in the midst of the Thirty Years’ War. At the old Aegidientor, you can virtually bring the mighty city walls – which have now almost completely disappeared – back to life and discover how the city managed to strike a balance between fortified defences and flourishing trade.
2. c. 1676 – The genius Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz: Meet the city’s most famous universal genius at his place of work and gain an insight into his visionary world of ideas.
3. Around 1875 – The Prussian provincial capital: Feel the pulse of industrialisation! Hanover is growing into a modern metropolis – factory chimneys are belching smoke, and the economy is booming.
4. c. 1902 – The other side of the old town: Experience the unvarnished reality. You’ll wander through a narrow alleyway in the old town and see for yourself how people used to live amid poor hygiene and cramped conditions.
5. c. 1920 – The Lost Art of River Water: Marvel at an architectural masterpiece that has now disappeared from the cityscape. We are bringing this majestic river-inspired work of art back to life in all its virtual splendour.

Procedure & Important Information:

• A walk with a wow factor: We’ll walk through the stations together. At the 5 selected stops Let’s stop for a moment and put on our VR headsets.
• No prior knowledge required: Using the VR headsets is child’s play, and the scenes start automatically. Your guide will explain everything to you at your own pace before you start and will be on hand to help you throughout the tour.
• Who is it suitable for? Perfect for history buffs, tech enthusiasts, those exploring Hanover, families (children aged 8 and over) and anyone looking for an extraordinary adventure.
