Guided tour of Steinhude

During the tour, guests learn exciting details about the history of Steinhude - from the original fishing and weaving village to today's excursion destination on the Steinhuder Meer.

A special highlight is the Exclusive visit to the historic Kastenmangelwhich is only possible as part of this guided tour. There you will gain an insight into the traditional craft of linen weaving, which has characterised the village for centuries.

The tour continues through the picturesque Barn Quarter with its lovingly restored buildings. Along the promenade you will also discover interesting facts about the Fishing on the Steinhuder Meer including historical fishing methods and the importance of smoking eel for the region.
Another highlight is the view of Wilhelmstein Island, whose history as a former fortress and prison island is as fascinating as it is unique, as well as a visit to the inner courtyard of the Fishermen's and Weavers' Museum.
